Dominion Bilbao Basket reached an agreement with head coach Carles Duran to work together for the next two years, until the end of the 2017-18 season, the club announced on Monday. Duran, age 40, arrives from Valencia Basket, where he worked for the last two seasons, mainly as assistant coach. Duran, however, was briefly promoted to the head coach job in January 2015, helping Valencia reach the Eurocup quarterfinals and the Spanish League semifinals. He went back to the assistant coach role when Valencia hired Pedro Martinez. Duran has also coached Prat Joventut in Spain, as well as being a member of Joventut Badalona's coaching staff, working for Sito Alonso, who led Bilbao in each of the last two seasons.
