Croatian champion Cedevita Zagreb put and experienced big body into its paint by signing a one-year contract with center Mirza Begic, club announced on Wednesday. Veteran big man Begic (2.16 meters, 31 years old) has played last season with Dominion Bilbao Basket, and posted 6.1 points, 4.4 rebound and 1.3 blocks in the Spanish League action, and has also played an average of 14 minutes in four 7DAYS EuroCup games, posting 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. A veteran of 8 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague seasons, Begic has played a total of 7 EuroCup games in his career, all in the past two seasons - three with Union Olimpija Ljubljana and those four last season with Bilbao. He has an average of 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in those contests. During his career Begic has also played for Real Madrid and Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz in Spain, Olympiacos Piraeus in Greece, Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania, Huy Basket in Belgium, Virtus Bologna in Italy, Triglav Kranj and Geoplin Slovan in Slovenia. He was a member of Slovenian national team at EuroBaskets in 2011 and 2013.
