MZT Skopje Aerodrom shored up its frontcourt by signing veterans Jeremiah Massey and Jure Lalic, the club announced Wednesday. Massey (2.02 meters, 34 years old) has found great success over the years playing for a number of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. He was named to the 2011-12 All-Eurocup Second Team after averaging 15.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in helping Lokomotiv reach the quarterfinals. Massey also played four seasons in the Euroleague for Aris Thessaloniki, Madrid and Brose Bamberg, during which he averaged 12 points and 6.4 rebounds over 65 games. Massey last played for Libertad de Sunchales in Argentina. He has also played for GS Larissa as well as Aris in Greece, Obradoiro as well as Madrid in Spain, Krasnie Krylia as well as Lokomotiv in Russia, Champville and Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut in Lebanon, and Al Gharafa in Qatar. Massey has citizenship from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and has represented the country at the international level.
Lalic (2.09 meters, 30 years old) has played seven seasons in the 7DAYS EuroCup with five different teams, including the one he arrives from this season, KRKA Novo Mesto of Slovenia. Lalic debuted in the Eurocup with Zadar of his native Croatia in the 2005-04 season. He left in 2008 for Charleroi of Belgium and later joined Union Olimpija of Slovenia, Cibona Zagreb and Lukoil Academia Sofia of Bulgaria, with whom he put up 10.3 points and 6.2 rebounds in 10 EuroCup games three seasons ago. Lalic has played a total of 61 EuroCup games in his career, averaging 6.1 points and 2.8 rebounds.
