ALBA Berlin bolstered its front line ahead of the 7DAYS EuroCup season by bringing in forwards Tony Gaffney and Paul Carter, club announced on Monday. Gaffney (2.06 meters, 31 yeas old) has signed a one year deal with an option for another season, and Carter (2.05 meters, 29 years old) has signed a short-term three-month contract with an option to extend until the end of the season. Carter arrives from Antibes in France where he averaged 10.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists last season. He previously played with Lapuan Korikobrat in Finland, Ashkelon in Israel, as well as Idaho and Springfield in the Development League. While Carter is set to make his EuroCup debut, Gaffney on the other hand, is a veteran with three EuroCup seasons under his belt. The past two years he played with Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, and last season he posted 6.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks in 15 EuroCup games, and had 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals in Israeli League action. During his career he also played for Telekom Baskets Bonn in Germany, Joventut Badalona in Spain, Ankara in Turkey and Utah in the Development League.
