Nizhny adds size with Bristol
Nizhny Novgorod bolstered its frontcourt by inking center Kervin Bristol to a one-month tryout, with an option to extend his contract for the remainder of the season. Bristol (2.06 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Mugla Ormanspor, where he averaged 2.5 points and 7.2 rebounds in 6 Turkish League games this season. He started his career with Istanbulspor of Turkey and also played for Hopsi Polzela of Slovenia, Huracanes del Atlantico of the Dominican Republic, MBC Mykolaiv of Ukraine, Krasnye Krylia Samara of Russia, JDA Dijon of France, Nea Kifisia Dimoulas Athens of Greece and Anwil Wloclawek of Poland. Bristol led the 2012-13 Slovenian League in rebounds (10.9 rpg.) with Polzela and went on to do the same in the 2013-14 Ukrainian League with Mykolaiv (12.4 rpg.). "We were looking for a player who could strengthen our defense. The next few games should show how Bristol can help our team and if he can stay with us," Nizhny head coach Arturs Stalbergs said. "He proved to be a good rebounding and defense specialist with Krasnye Krylia and I hope that he can play at the same level with Nizhny Novgorod."
