FC Bayern Munich learned on Thursday that starting power forward Milan Macvan will miss the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Macvan suffered the injury in the third quarter of Wednesday’s victory over Zenit St. Petersburg. In his first season with the club, the 28-year-old averaged 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for an average performance index rating of 13.5. He was second on the team in all three categories.
"This is the first major injury of my career, which unfortunately is part of a professional life, I know that," Macvan told the club website. "I'm more annoyed for the team because it happened in an important seasonal phase after five months of building something for us. Right now I would have loved to continue supporting the team. But now everyone will continue to fight, the team and me."
