While getting ready for its return to the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals, Buducnost VOLI Podgorica announced a contract extension with center Filip Barovic. A big man who is currently injured with a broken bone in his foot, Barovic (2.05 meters, 27 years old) signed a contract that will keep him in the Montenegrin capital for another two years. This is the second stint with Buducnost for Barovic, who joined the club as an 18-year old and spent there three years before leaving in 2011. “I had certain expectations when returning to the club, but I needed only few days after coming back to realize that Buducnost with its new management is a totally different club than the one I left, and that I perfectly fit in,” Barovic said when signing the deal. “After six year of playing in other clubs, I feel as if I returned home.” After leaving Buducnost in the summer of 2011, Barovic also played for Mornar Bar in his native Montenegro, Sopron and KTE in Hungary, Academic Sofia in Bulgaria and Telekom Bonn in Germany. Barovic is also a member of the Montenegro national team.
