AS Monaco, Cooper agree again
AS Monaco keeps working hard to put together a competitive roster by re-signing point guard D.J. Cooper for the next two seasons, the club announced on Wednesday. Cooper (1.83 meters, 27 years old) averaged 6.9 points and a competition-best 7.3 assists in 37 French League games. He started the 2017-18 season with BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral, averaging 9.5 points and 9.3 assists before joining Monaco, to which he helped his team win the French Leaders Cup title, reach the French League Finals and make it to the Basketball Champions League title game. Cooper already played for Monaco in the 2015-16 season, helping it win the French Leaders Cup title. He started his professional career with PAOK Thessaloniki, making his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with the Greek powerhouse in the 2013-14 season. He has also played for Enisey Krasnoyarsk and Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd of Russia, AEK Athens and Panathinaikos Athens of Greece and Elan Bearnais Pau-Orthez of France before joining Gravelines. In 16 EuroCup career games with PAOK and Oktyabr, Cooper has averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 7.9 assists.
