Two-time EuroCup champ Sheleketo heads to UNICS
UNICS Kazan signed two-time EuroCup champion Maxim Sheleketo on Saturday for a second stint at the club. Sheleketo (2.05 meters, 31 years old) won the EuroCup in 2013 with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar and again two seasons later with Khimki Moscow Region. He arrives from fellow Russian side Avtodor Saratov, where Sheleketo averaged 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in the VTB United League last season. He first played for UNICS in the 2013-14 season and helped the team reach the EuroCup Finals and win the Russian Cup. Sheleketo has also played for Kupol-Antey Izhevsk, CSK VVS Samara Region and CSKA Trinta and Sakhalin in Russia and for VEF Riga in Latvia.
