Unicaja inks guard Fernandez to three-year pact

Unicaja Malaga bolstered its backcourt with the signing of combo guard
Jaime Fernandez
to a three-year deal, the club announced Wednesday. Fernandez (1.86 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Morabanc Andorra, where he averaged 9.2 points and 3.2 assists in 10 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. He had joined Andorra from his boyhood club, Estudiantes Madrid. Fernandez made his EuroCup debut in the competition as a 17-year old with Estudiantes in the 2010-11 season. In the past, Fernandez has been a regular member of the Spanish national team at both the junior and senior levels; he won gold medals at the U16 European Championships in 2009 and the U18 European Championships in 2011 and a bronze medal at the U20 European Championships in 2013.
