Fiat Turin has confirmed that head coach Larry Brown will not be with the team temporarily for medical reasons. Brown is expected to miss the team's 7DAYS EuroCup home opener on Wednesday against Mornar Bar. Assistant coach Paolo Galbiati will take over for Brown during his absence. Brown, 78, announced at a press conference after his team's Italian League game on Sunday that he will go back to the United States for medical reasons. He and the club stated that his absence "should not be long" but did not give a specific time frame. The club's statement said Brown would undergo a minor operation in Dallas, Texas. "The players and the club await coach Larry Brown as soon as possible to continue the season he started with so much determination and enthusiasm," the club's announcement said.
