Ian Hummer remembered fondly his first action in professional basketball back as he helped AS Monaco to a 65-75 victory over ratiopharm Ulm - the team with whom he started his career in 2013-14.
The American forward returned to Ulm for the first time and played a major role in AS Monaco grabbing a 65-75 road win in the 7DAYS EuroCup. Hummer collected 13 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block for a team high index rating of 18 in Monaco's Group A win.
The 28-year-old keyed Monaco's big run by starting the second half with an assist, 3 offensive rebounds, a three-pointer and layup as the lead swelled to 34-55. Hummer, who faced Ulm on the road in the German League in 2015-16 with Goettingen, averaged 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 4 EuroCup games in 2013-14 - his first season as a professional after a college career at Princeton University.
"It was a great experience. For my first year it was a great team to be on. We were in the EuroCup," Hummer said. "All of the guys from that team are doing well. It was great seeing Per [Guenther] and Coach [Thorsten Leibenath]. It was great being back."
Especially since Hummer helped Monaco to the victory.
