KK Rudupis Prienai is set to start its second Eurocup season led by the same man that has coached the team for the best part of the last decade. On Friday, Rudupis reached a new agreement with head coach Virginijus Seskus to keep working together next season. Seskus, age 45, has coached the team since 2007 and previously led Prienai between 2004 and 2006. Seskus took the team in the Lithuanian second division but soon helped Rudupis to promote. Seskus helped Rudupis to win the Lithuanian second division in 2008-09, getting it to the Lithuanian Elite. In 2009-10, Seskus took Rudupis all the way to the Baltic League's Challenge Cup final. Rudupis, always led by Seskus, had made it to the Lithuanian League and the Lithuanian Cup semifinals in each of the last two seasons, also reaching the Baltic League quarterfinals in 2011. Rudupis has ranked third in the Lithuanian League in 2011 and 2012. The club made its Eurocup debut last season, missing the Last 16 despite a 3-3 record which included a prestigious road win against CEZ Basketball Nymburk. Seskus will try to lead Rudupis past the Eurocup regular season in 2012-13.
