Galatasaray Medical Park brings back Akyol
Cenk Akyol - Anadolu EfesA young veteran returned to the Eurocup with the announcement Saturday that Galatasaray Medical Park inked swingman Cenk Akyol to a two-year deal. Akyol (1.97 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Anadolu Efes, where he averaged 4.7 points and 2 rebounds in 16 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. Akyol averaged 6.7 points in 10 ULEB Cup games with Galatasaray before returning to Efes in 2008-09. He spent the 2009-10 season with Avellino of Italy before returning to Efes in the last two years. Akyol has helped Efes to win two Turkish League and three Turkish League titles. He won a silver medal with Turkey at the 2010 FIBA World Championships. Akyol has led Turkey to win four other silver medals in youth competitions - at the U16 European Championshp in 2003, the U18 European Championships in 2004 and 2005 and the U20 European Championships in 2006.
