Galatasaray Medical Park continued putting together a championship-caliber team by signing super scorer Henry Domercant, who achieved All-Euroleague honors last season with Unics Kazan. Domercant (1.92 meters, 31 years old) starred for Unics as he guided the team to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague playoffs for the first time. He finished the season as the Euroleague leader in three-pointers made (48), ranked fifth in three-point accuracy (49.48 %), fourth in scoring (15.5 ppg.) and seventh in performance index rating (16.3 per game). He also captured bwin MVP for January honors. Domercant has now averaged double figures in points in each of his six Euroleague seasons with Efes Pilsen, Olympiacos, Montepaschi Siena and Unics.
By signing with Galatasaray, Domercant returns to the Eurocup for the first time since the 2007-08 season, when he led Dynamo Moscow to third place. He was named the competition's regular season MVP and led the ULEB Cup that season with 20.6 points per game on a blistering 57.1% from downtown. He was also second in the competition in index performance rating (20.9 per game) that season. Domercant began his professional career in Turkey with Karsiyaka in the 2003-04 season. He spent the next two with Efes Pilsen, then moved to Greece to play for Olympiacos, followed by a year in Russia with Dynamo, two seasons in Italy with Montepaschi and then two more years in Russia, one each with Spartak St. Petersburg and Unics. Over the course of nine professional seasons with seven teams in four countries, he has celebrated three domestic championships and four cups.
