Galatasaray Medical Park signs Gordon for two years

Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul strengthened its backcourt by inking combo guard Jamont Gordon to a two-year deal on Wednesday. Gordon (1.93 meters, 25 years old) arrives from CSKA Moscow, where he averaged 6.7 points and 2 assists in 21 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. In his two years with CSKA, Gordon helped the Russian powerhouse to win back-to-back Russian League titles plus the VTB League trophy and the Euroleague final last season. Gordon had an impression Euroleague debut season with Cibona Zagreb in 2009-10, in which he averaged 13.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 15 games. He boosted his numbers to 20 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the Top 16, when he led the competition in index ranking (23.8 per game) and was tied as its best scorer with 20 points per game. Gordon later helped Cibona win the Croatian League title and reach the Adriatic League final. Gordon has also played for Fortitudo Bologna in Italy. He played in the Eurocup with Fortitudo and averaged 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2 assists in 6 games in 2008-09.
