Cedevita inks former MVP Banic, guard Mustapic
Cedevita Zagreb has made changes on its roster ahead of its Round 7 clash against ALBA Berlin. The Croatian powerhouse has brought the veteran power forward Marko Banic and guard Jakov Mustapic for the remainder of the season. Banic (2.04 meters, 34 years old) is a 2010 EuroCup MVP, and a veteran of seven seasons in the competition. He made his competition debut back in 2002 as a teenager with his Croatian hometown club of KK Zadar, and has EuroCup career averages of 9.7 points and 3.6 rebounds. Banic also spent seven seasons playing for Bilbao Basket, and also played for UNICS Kazan, Estudiantes Madrid and ALBA Berlin. Mustapic (1.94 meters, 24 years old) grew up with Cedevita, and made his EuroCup debut with the team in 2013. He has since played for Croatian teams Zabok, Kvarner Rijeka, Split, Sibenik Jolly and Vrijednosnice Osijek, as well as Miasto Szkla Krasno in Poland. He now returns to his hometown club to help Cedevita on the perimeter. Both Banic and Mustapic are expected to play in Round 7 at ALBA, and their arrivals come after the club announced parting ways with point guard Josh Magette, and power forward Pablo Aguilar.
