Galatasaray Medical Park lands Milan Macvan
Milan Macvan - PartizanIn its return to the Eurocup, Turkish team Galatasaray Medical Park will surely try to make some noise as on Wednesday it announced a new addition, power forward Milan Macvan, for the next two seasons. Macvan (2.06 meters, 22 years old) arrives from Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, even though he played last season with Partizan mt:s Belgrade on loan from the Israeli club. With Partizan, Macvan averaged 15.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season appearances. He ranked first in total rebounds during the regular season (82) and second in defensive rebounds (59). He also ranked in the Top 10 poistions in six other categories, the highlight of which is being third in total index rating (198). Macvan led Partizan to the Serbian League and Cup titles last season and to the Adriatic League Final Four.

This will also mean Macvan's comeback to the Eurocup, in which he won the Rising Star Award in 2009 while playing with Hemofarm Stada. He played most of his first years in Hemofarm with also a brief stint at FMP Belgrade. He played four seasons in the Eurocup from 2007 to 2011, year in which he upgraded to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague when Maccabi Tel aviv signed him midway through the season. He finished that campaign with his first trip to a Final Four, which Maccabi lost in the final to Panathinaikos Athens. Last season, Macvan was back in Serbia to play with Partizan. Macvan is also a member of the Serbian national team with which he won a silver medal at the 2009 EuroBasket.
