It was another special milestone night for Valencia Basket center Bojan Dubljevic on Wednesday. In his team's 92-76 win over Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, Dubljevic became the 7DAYS EuroCup all-time leader in offensive rebounds.
Dubljevic entered the game with 212 offensive boards for his career, one behind the previous all-time leader, Vladimir Veremeenko. By grabbing 2 more against Zvezda, Dubljevic is now the one sitting atop the rankings.
Dubljevic grabbed his first offensive board after just 3 minutes and 42 seconds in the game, and his second, which put him in the all-time lead, with 6:46 to go in the fourth quarter. He turned both of his offensive rebounds into put-back baskets, which helped him pace Valencia to the victory with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
This just one of many EuroCup records that the 27-year old center has set, and with more likely on the way. Dubljevic is already the competition's all-time leader in points scored (1,335) and accumulated performance index rating (1,547). He is second in total rebounds with 596, and needs just 13 more to catch Veremeenko as the all-time rebounding king.
In addition, Dubljevic shot 7 for 10 on two-pointers last night. That gave him 262 two-point shots made for his career, moving Dubljevic into fourth all-time. He passed Petr Benda who has 256.
In his seventh EuroCup season, Dubljevic has appeared in 109 career games and averages 1.96 offensive rebounds per game. He has really added to his tally in recent weeks, too, ranking third in the Top 16 with 3.0 offensive rebounds per game.
