CSP Limoges has a new man to lead its bench with the appointment of Alfred Julbe as head coach on a two-year deal, the club announced on Friday. Julbe, a native of Spain who will turn 49 in early July, has more than two decades of head-coaching experience. He began as an assistant with Joventut Badalona in 1984 and two years later took over as a head coach. Julbe had two stints with Joventut during his career; he guided the team to the 1988 Cup Winners Cup final and won the Spanish Cup in 1997. Over the years he coached a number of Spanish clubs: CB Girona, Basket Zaragoza, Caceres and Andorra. He also spent a year in Mexico with Leon and a year coaching women’s side Uni Girona before joining the FC Barcelona Lassa organization in 2015. Julbe guided U18 FC Barcelona to the 2016 Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals title. He also coached the FC Barcelona 'B team' and made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague coaching debut in February 2018 in a road loss at Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. Julbe also started serving as coach of the Egypt national team earlier this year.
