Darussafaka Tekfen Istanbul announced on Sunday that head coach Selcuk Ernak will remain on the bench for the team's 7DAYS EuroCup return next season. Ernak, 48 years old, joined Darussafaka in the middle of the last Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, after the team's 1-10 start. Despite going 4-15 the rest of the way, Darussafaka could not escape last place at season's end. For 2019-20, Darussafaka returns to the EuroCup as the most recent former champion in the competition, having won the 2017 title under David Blatt. Ernak has previously coached two seasons in the EuroCup, compiling a 12-12 overall record with Banvit Bandirma from 2014 to 2016. His 2014-15 squad reached the EuroCup Semifinals before losing to eventual champion Khimki Moscow Region. Ernak has also been an assistant coach on the Chinese national team. His new contract with Darussafaka is for a year with an option for a second one.
