Rytas Vilnius signed guard Mindaugas Girdziunas to a contract that will keep him with the club through the end of the 2020-21 season. Girdziunas (1.88 meters, 30 years old) averaged 7.4 points on 47.8% three-point shooting and 1.4 assists over 17 appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup in his second season with the club. It was his fifth season in the competition after three with his boyhood club Neptunas Klaipeda, with which he also played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in 2014-15. Girdziunas played a total of eight seasons with Neptunas and another at Nevezis Kedainiai. He helped Rytas win the Lithuanian King Mindaugas Cup earlier this season.
"During the season I said that I would stay in Vilnius. I am really glad that the team has shown the initiative to extend our cooperation. It was not difficult for us to reach an agreement," said Girdziunas.
