EWE Baskets Oldenburg reached an agreement with combo guard Kevin McClain, who penned a two-year deal with the German powerhouse on Wednesday. McClain (1.88 meters, 22 years old) is set to start his professional basketball career with Oldenburg. He arrives from Belmont University, where he averaged 16.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 33 NCAA games last season, in which McClain helped Belmont reach the NCAA Tournament.
"Kevin was our favorite player in this position for a number of reasons: he has offensive versatility, and can be used as a shooting guard and point guard," Oldenburg head coach Mladen Drijencic said. "His playing style and role in college is similar to ours. This will help him adapt quickly to European basketball. The fact that Kevin starts his professional career here at EWE Baskets is a great honor for us."
