UNICS Kazan reached an agreement with swingman Haukur Palsson on a one-year deal with an option to extend the contract for the 2020-21 season, the club announced Thursday. Palsson (1.92 meters, 27 years old) arrives from JSF Nanterre, where he averaged 9.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 38 French League games last season. He started his career with Stella Azzurra of Italy and has also played for the University of Maryland (NCAA), Basquet Manresa, KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz and Breogan Lugo of Spain, LF Basket Lulea of Sweden, Mitteldeutscher of Germany, UMFN Njardvik of his native Iceland, as well as for SPO Rouen Basket and Cholet Basket of France. Palsson has also been a member of the Icelandic national team. UNICS also exercised its options to keep Errick McCollum, Raymar Morgan, Jamar Smith and Kostas Kaimakoglou.
