Italian League champion Umana Reyer Venice signed veteran guard Jeremy Chappell on Monday for the coming season. Chappell (1.91 meters, 32 years old) remains in Italy after playing for Happy Casa Brindisi last season and Cantu the season before. He averaged 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 33 Italian League contests last season. Chappell returns to the EuroCup after playing the competition in 2015-16 with Avtodor Saratov; he tallied 15.5 points, 4.6 boards and 3.4 assists in 16 EuroCup games that season. Chappell has also played for Znicz Jaroslaw in Poland; Hoverla and Ferro-ZNTU in Ukraine, Triumph Lyubertsy in Russia and Banvit in Turkey. He helped Banvit win the Turkish Cup in 2017.
"I am really excited to be part of Umana Reyer," Chappell said. "It is a club with a very high degree of professionalism in different sectors and this is very important for me. I have great respect also for the supporters; I have never seen a game in which the Taliercio was not full and the atmosphere that is created is ideal to play important games. My goals are always the same: to give my all to help my team win. By joining the Italian champion, I will put my abilities at the disposal of staff and teammates to better defend the title."
