Partizan NIS Belgrade signed veteran forward Zanis Peiners, the club announced Monday. Peiners (2.05 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Darussafaka Tekfen Istanbul, with which he made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut last season. He posted 6.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 28 games, half of which saw Peiners appear in the starting lineup. Peiners returns to the 7DAYS EuroCup, where Peiners shined two seasons ago with Lithuanian side Lietkabelis Panevezys. He led his team with a performance index rating of 17.7 and with 5.1 rebounds and ranked second with 12.8 points and 2.6 assists per game. A native of Latvia, Peiners played for BZ Ezerzeme, ASK Riga, VEF Riga, Latvijas Universitate and Ventspils early in his career. He also played abroad for MBC Mikolaiv in Ukraine and PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece as well as for the Latvian national team.
