Rytas Vilnius strengthened its frontcourt by inking versatile forward Cameron Bairstow to a one-year deal, the club announced Thrusday. Bairstow (2.06 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Brisbane Bullets, where he averaged 11.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in 29 Australian League games last season. He finished his college career at the University of New Nexico and has played for Chicago of the NBA and Austin of the D-League before joining Brisbane in 2016. Bairstow is also a member of the Australian national team, helping the Boomers win a gold medal at the 2015 FIBA Oceania Championships and reach the 2016 Olympic Games semifinals. "Bairstow is a really capable basketball player who to like to be physical in the paint, but at the same time, he is dangerous away from the basket, even from the three-point line," Rytas head coach Dainius Adomaitis said. "He will give our team additional options on offense. He is an experienced player who defended his country at the Olympics, but still has things to prove on a basketball court. I am sure he will come to Vilnius ready to work hard and help us win."
