Galatasaray, Koksal together for two more years

Galatasaray Doga Sigorta Istanbul and team captain Goksenin Koksal will stay together for two more years, the club announced on Thursday. Shooting guard Koksal (1.96 meters, 28 years old) was a starter in the final game of the 2015-16 when Galatasaray became the first 7DAYS EuroCup champion from Turkey with a 78-67 victory over visiting Strasbourg of France. Koksal has spent eight of his nine years as a pro in Galatasaray's uniform, with the exception of the 2014-15 season with Darussafaka Tekfen Istanbul. His return to Galatasaray coincided with the club's historic EuroCup title. With Galatasaray, he has played 52 games over four EuroCup seasons, averaging 5.6 points and making 39.2% of his three-pointers in that span. He has also played three EuroLeague seasons for Galatasaray, with an average of 2.6 points over 54 games.

"I am happy to renew the contract with my club, Galatasaray, for two years," Koksal said in a tweet. "No one should doubt that I will represent our club in the most dignified manner, by behaving in the manner of the Galatasaray captain on and off the court."
