Limoges CSP completed its backcourt for the upcoming season by inking playmaker Ovidijus Varanauskas to a one-year deal, the club announced Wednesday. Varanauskas (1.88 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Trefl Sopot, where he averaged 12.5 points and 3.0 assists in 13 Polish League games last season. He started the 2018-19 season with Prienu Skycop of his native Lithuania, averaging 8.2 points and 3.9 assists in 17 Lithuanian League games before joining Trefl. Varanauskas started his career with Rytas Vilnius's junior team and also played for Sakalai Vilnius, Juventus Utenos and Statyba Vilnius also of Lithuania, Polpharma Starogard Gdanski of Poland, Pallacanestro Varese of Italy, Valmiera ORDO of Latvia, as well as for Gries Oberhoffen and SPO Rouen Basket of France. He helped Valmiera win the Baltic League Cup in 2017 and got a bronze medal with Lithuania at the 2007 U16 European Championships. Varanauskas is set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Limoges next season.
