Rytas re-signs big man Kairys

Rytas Vilnius reached a new agreement with center Evaldas Kairys to keep working together next season, the club announced on Friday. Kairys (2.07 meters, 28 years old) averaged 7.4 points on 64.1% two-point shooting and 4.1 rebounds in eight 7DAYS EuroCup games last season, which ended abruptly for him due to a shoulder injury. He had returned to Rytas after playing for Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket, where he averaged 7.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 28 Turkish League games in the 2017-18 season, leading the competition in two-point shooting percentage (74%, 94-of-127). Born in Vilnius, Kairys played for Perlas and Pieno Zvaigzdes of Lithuania and Usask Sportif of Turkey. Kairys has been a member of the Lithuanian national team.
