Tofas Bursa added depth to its squad by signing swingman Rion Brown who arrives from the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague powerhouse Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, the club announced on Friday. Brown (1.98 meters, 28 years old) had eight brief EuroLeague appearances this season, but averaged 6.3 points, 2.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds in Greek League action. Last season Brown played with Promitheas Patras, helping it reach the Greek League finals by averaging 10.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He also posted 15.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in the FIBA Champions League last season. Brown has previously also played for Brussels in Belgium, Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, Kataja in Finland and Dijon in France. Brown is eligible to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut in Round 4 of the Top 16, which Tofas started with a victory over Unicaja Malaga.
