Signature moves: Zach Auguste

Galatasaray Doga Sigorta Istanbul head coach Ertugrul Erdogan faced Zach Auguste in 2016-17 in the Turkish League when he was coaching Istanbul BB. Erdogan made sure he brought the big man to his team when he took over at Galatasaray in 2018. Auguste has repaid the coach with two very productive seasons in the 7DAYS EuroCup. Auguste was the fifth-best rebounder in the Turkish league for Usak three seasons ago and when he came to Galatasaray, he brought with him the experience of a season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Panathinaikos Athens.

The 26-year-old Auguste has emerged as a real force in the paint for Galatasaray. The 2.08-meter center has averaged 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds over the last two seasons in the EuroCup. His 64 offensive rebounds grabbed (2.5 per game) are the second-most in the competition in that span and he has gathered 120 defensive rebounds - also second-most over that stretch. Auguste’s 4.6 defensive rebounds per game rank him first in the EuroCup since 2018-19.

Erdogan and Galatasaray fans can rely on Auguste to score when he gets the ball. He has made the most two-point shots (133) over the last two seasons and has converted them at an impressive 64.6 percent accuracy. In the last six seasons - dating back to his third season in college at the University of Notre Dame, Auguste has only once made less than 60.0% of his two-point shots. The 2019-20 season saw him drain 69.4% of his two-point attempts.
