Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt announced on Tuesday that head coach Sebastian Gleim will remain on its bench for the 2020-21 season. Gleim, 35, is the youngest head coach in the German League and has been part of the Skyliners system since 2014, when he started working with the youth and junior teams. Gleim got into coaching when he was 16 years old and he took over as Skyliners head coach last summer. He has led them to 6-15 record before the season was suspended.
"It's a great challenge", Gleim said. "I took over the team in a difficult restructuring phase and I am happy to take on the challenge together with the club. I hope that we will all come out of this time stronger. The overall situation in the club is important to me, and that we continue to work on young talents who have a great chance of getting better over the summer and who can also hope for playing time at the [German League season-ending] tournament.
