Gran Canaria keeps wing Okoye

Herbalife Gran Canaria agreed to keep wing Stan Okoye for another season, the club announced Saturday. Okoye (1.98 meters, 29 years old) averaged 6.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 29 games in the Spanish League last season for Gran Canaria. Okoye played college basketball at Virginia Tech and started his professional career with Netanya of Israel. He also played at Perth of Australia and Matera, Udine and Varese of Italy before landing in Spain's top flight in 2018-19 with Zaragoza. It was there where Okoye excelled, playing for new coach Porfi Fisac, averaging 14.6 points and 4.9 rebounds. He is a member of the Nigeria national team.
