The Italian League trio of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Umana Reyer Venice and Germani Brescia along with Nanterre 92 of France were the first teams to start their preparations for the 2020-21 season as they began their training camps. Virtus will be looking to at least repeat their performance from last season in the 7DAYS EuroCup as it reached the quarterfinals before the season was abandoned due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sasa Djordjevic's team will be one of the favorites to hoist the trophy as it added scoring ace Josh Adams to the playmaking duo of Milos Teodosic and Stefan Markovic.
Reyer also reached the EuroCup quarterfinals last season and the team will have nearly its entire core back along with new big man Isaac Fotu. Brescia, which bowed out in the Top 16 last season, has revamped its roster and will be looking to continue to establish its name in Europe. Nanterre's off-season saw the team re-unite with two former players in Chris Warren and Brian Conklin while adding some size with Tyler Stone and Alpha Kaba to a side which went 4-6 in the regular season in 2019-20.
