Maccabi Rishon Lezion continued to shape its team for the coming season and signed big man Ido Flaischer for the 2020-21 campaign, the club announced Monday. Flaischer (2.07 meters, 22 years old) arrives from Hapoel Galil Gilboa, where he averaged 2.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 28 Israeli League games last season. Flaischer played in the youth system of Maccabi Tel Aviv before heading to the United States to play college basketball with University of Hawaii. He returned to Europe in 2018 and played one season with Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia and then joined Galil Gilboa. Flaischer played twice in the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament with Maccabi. He also has played for the Israeli youth national teams. He helped Israel win the FIBA U20 European Championship 2018. He will be making his 7DAYS EuroCup debut.
