Gran Canaria gets Dimsa on loan

Herbalife Gran Canaria reached an agreement with Zalgiris Kaunas to get forward Tomas Dimsa on loan for the remainder of the season, both clubs confirmed Monday. Dimsa (1.96 meters, 26 years old) played one official game with Zalgiris this season, getting 3 points in 16 minutes in a Lithuanian League showdown against Siauliai. Dimsa has re-joined Zalgiris rom Lietkabelis Panevezys, where he averaged 14.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 24 Lithuanian League games last season. He had one of his best games – 21 points, 5-for-7 three-point shooting, 6 assists – in an 83-72 home win against Zalgiris. Born in Kaunas, Dimsa joined Zalgiris's youth teams at a very young age, playing for Zalgiris-Sabonio mokykla Kaunas, too. He made his Lithuanian League debut in the 2012-13 season and played his first Turkish Airlines EuroLeague campaign a year later. Dimsa has also played for Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt of Germany, Vytautas Prienu and Juventus-LKSK Utenos of Lithuania, and Openjobmetis Varese of Italy. He helped Zalgiris win consecutive Lithuanian League titles in 2014 and 2015, also got the Lithuanian Cup crown in 2015, and lifted the FIBA Europe Cup trophy with Frankfurt in 2016. Dimsa has also been a member of the Lithuanian national team.
