Nanterre 92 brought in a much-needed backcourt depth with the additions of guards Nikola Rebic and Marcquise Reed, the club announced on Thursday. Rebic (1.88 meters, 25 years old) arrives from a fellow 7DAYS EuroCup side and a French League rival AS Monaco, the club he joined in late October as a short-term replacement for Khadeen Carrington who suffered a season-ending knee injury. Rebic made four EuroCup appearances with Monaco, averaging 6.3 points and 2.8 assists helping Monaco reach the Top 16. Interestingly, Nanterre and Monaco are both in the same Top 16 group. Rebic started his career with Radnicki Basket Belgrade in his native Serbia, and also played there for Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade and Mega Bemax, as well as for Mornar Bar of Montenegro. Rebic helped Zvezda win back-to-back Serbian Cup titles in 2014 and 2015, as well as consecutive Serbian League and Adriatic League titles in 2015 and 2016. He has also been a member of the Serbian national team. Rebic helped Serbia get a gold medal at the 2015 U20 European Championships, and respective bronze medals at the 2014 U20 European Championships and the 2012 U18 European Championships.
Reed (1.90 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Prometey in Ukraine, where in 10 appearances this season he posted 13.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals. Reed, who spent four years with Clemson University, made his professional debut last season he played with Chorale de Roanne in France and ranked fourth in the French League in scoring with 16.4 points per game. Both Reed and Rebic are set to help Nanterre in the Top 16, where the French side will play in Group E against Unicaja Malaga, Monaco and the winner of regular-season Group A.
