Herbalife Gran Canaria reached a new agreement with power forward John Shurna to keep working together until the end of the 2022-23 season, the club announced Friday. Shurna (2.04 meters, 31 years old) averaged 8.8 points on 40.4% three-point shooting and 5.2 rebounds in 20 7DAYS EuroCup games last season, helping his team reach the semifinals. Shurna started his professional basketball career with Strasbourg of France and also played for Joventut Badalona, Valencia Basket and MoraBanc Andorra of Spain, Darussafaka Istanbul of Turkey, and Cedevita Zagreb of Croatia. He helped Andorra reach the EuroCup semifinals in 2019. In 77 EuroCup career games with Valencia, Cedevita, Andorra and Gran Canaria, Shurna has amassed 630 points (8.2 ppg.) and 279 rebounds (3.6 rpg.).
