Partizan NIS Belgrade agreed to a two-year deal with forward Rodions Kurucs, the club announced on Wednesday. Kurucs (2.06 meters, 23 years old) has spent the last three years in the NBA, the first two with Brooklyn while last season he appeared in a limited fashion in 21 games with Brooklyn, Houston and Milwaukee. He played in total 131 games in the NBA over three years, averaging 16 minutes per game and posting 6.0 points and 3.1 rebounds. Kurucs now returns to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague where he made five appearances over two seasons, having made his debut in 2018 with FC Barcelona. He joined Barcelona as a teenager, after growing up with VEF Riga in his native Latvia. Kurucs has been a standout in the youth categories. He helped Barcelona win the 2016 Adidas Next Generation Tournament crown as an All-Tournament selection and also helped Latvia win a silver medal at the U16 European Championships in 2014.
