Omic returns to roots with Cedevita

Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana has brought Alen Omic back home on a deal for the remainder of the season. Omic (2.16 meters, 29 years old) made both his EuroLeague and EuroCup debuts as a member of the club in 2012 and 2013, respectively. He is one of the most accomplished players in EuroCup history. Aside from winning the title with Unicaja Malaga in 2017, Omic was named to the All-EuroCup First Team in 2016. His first appearance with Cedevita will be the 100th of his EuroCup career. He is ranked second in EuroCup history in both career rebounds (627) and two-pointers made (411), sixth in PIR (1,415) and 19th in scoring (1,027).

Omic averaged 8.2 points and 7.0 rebounds in 11 EuroCup games for JL Bourg en Bresse last season. He has also played for Gran Canaria, Unicaja, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and Joventut Badalona in the EuroCup and for Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Crvena Zvezda mts Belgarde, Buducnost VOLI Podgorica and AX Armani Exchange Milan in the EuroLeague. Omic began his professional career with Zlatorog Lasko in his native Slovenia. He has also represented Slovenia at both the Basketball World Cup and the EuroBasket.
