A dedication to social responsibility that joins basketball and business in the pursuit of helping communities in need is the subject of the annual symposium at the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four 2012 Istanbul next Friday, May 11. The symposium, hosted by Kadir Has University in Istanbul, will feature well known speakers from the world of sports as well as from Turkish and international business and academia. This year’s topic, "Good business can be GOOD business", coincides synergistically with the arrival of One Team, Euroleague Basketball’s new Corporate Social Responsibility and Marketing partnership program supported by Turkish Airlines. The symposium will be held during the Final Four on the morning of semifinals Friday, starting at 10:30 a.m. local time.
The symposium will feature opening remarks from Euroleague President and CEO, Mr. Jordi Bertomeu, followed by panels on the topics of "The Role of Sports in Society", "Business & Sponsorship Challenges: Responsible Investment", and "Changing Lives for the Better & The One Team Program". Among a dozen featured speakers tentatively scheduled to appear are: Women's Tennis Association Senior Manager of Sponsorship Marketing & Special Events, Mrs. Melissa Pine; Duara Consulting Managing Director, Mrs. Rowena Luscombe; and Anadolu Efes guard Sinan Guler. The closing remarks will be delivered by Mr. Ali Ozsoy, Secretary General of Turkish Basketball Federation.
As always, the Euroleague Basketball Symposium is open for all guests of the Final Four, although seating is limited. Kadir Has University, whose students are highly committed to social responsibility initiatives, is the perfect venue for this year's symposium. In addition to university students and others from the Euroleague’s International Master Program in Sports Marketing and Communication, the audience will include: Euroleague and One Team representatives, sponsors and partners; members of the media; and guests of the Euroleague and the Turkish Basketball Federation. The event will be conducted in English and Turkish, with simultaneous translation service in both languages. Space is limited, so please pre-register for the event at Euroleague.net to confirm your participation. REGISTER NOW
