Host side U18 Torrons Vicens L’Hospitalet gave the home fans plenty to cheer about to tip off the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Qualifying Tournament – Torneig de Bàsquet Junior Ciutat de L'Hospitalet by knocking off U18 Baloncesto Seville 75-63. Nil Baques scored 22 points to help L'Hospitalet come back from a 15-point deficit to win the opening game in Group B. Elies Velasco added 12 points and Albert Simon chipped in 3 points and 12 rebounds as L'Hospitalet notched its second straight victory in the competition, following its win over U18 Galatasaray Istanbul in the final game of last season’s ANGT L’Hospitalet. Leo Cizmic paced Seville with 15 points, 17 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block and Eduardo Lada had 14 points, but it was not enough for Seville.

Lada scored the first points of the competition for Seville before Cizmic added 3 points and Giorgi Tvalabeishvili tallied 5 points, including a three-point play as Seville built a 0-12 lead. L’Hospitalet finally scored its first points on a free throw by Gerard Rodriguez after more than 5 minutes of action. Seville went scoreless for 2 minutes and the host team got the margin to 5-12. Four more points from Cizmic pushed the cushion to 7-21. And the lead was 10-22 after 10 minutes. Juan Manuel Campos’s 2 baskets increased the advantage to 15 points – 12-27. Baques knocked down a three-ball for L’Hospitalet but Lada’s score had the Seville lead at 17-31 midway through the second. Adria Martinez answered with a three-pointer to spark a 12-0 run to pull L’Hospitalet to within 29-31. Seville temporarily got the margin back to 5 points but L’Hospitalet’s Andres Hernangomez knocked down a jumper at the halftime buzzer to make it 35-36.

Cizmic’s put-back started the second half but Baques knocked down another triple to knot the game at 38-38 and Hernangomez gave the hosts their first lead of the game 40-38. After twice pushing the advantage to 4 points, Baques scored to make it 48-42 and Velasco nailed a triple for a 51-43 cushion. And it was 53-47 after 30 minutes. Juan Miguel Lopez’s free throws trimmed the gap to 55-51, but Baques hit another long ball and Martinez followed with a trey of his own for a 63-51 margin with 5 minutes to play. Seville was able to score more consistently but could not come up with the defensive stops as Baques drained his fourth three-ball for a 70-56 lead with 3 minutes to play. L'Hospitalet missed its next three shots and Cizmic knocked down a three-pointer and Daniel Vicente made it 70-63 with 1:27 to play. But Velasco came up with a big layup with 47 seconds remaining for a 72-63 advantage – and finish off Seville for good.
