
In the last game of the group stage at the Torneo Città di Roma, Armani Junior Milan led from start to finish, beating Virtus Rome 66-42, claiming second place in Group B. In the bronze-medal game, 2-1 Milan will face 2-1 FC Bayern Munich on Sunday, while winless Virtus Rome will play against Virtus Siena for the seventh place. Armani Junior Milan grabbed control from the get-go, with Carlo Fumagalli and Giosue Hamadi sparking an 11-2 starting run. Daniele Ciambrone and Fabio Sansone cut it to 13-8 at the end of the first quarter, but Milan allowed only 3 points in the second period. Meanwhile, Andrea Picarelli scored 7 points, including a triple, getting Milan to 25-11 halftime lead. There was lot more offense after the break, Sansone got Virtus going, but Fumagalli, Picareli, and Lorenzo Restelli carried Milan, before a three-pointer from Alberto Cacace sparked a 9-2 run for 42-22. Giovanni De Nicolao cut the deficit with a jumper and a triple on back-to-back possessions, but Milan still had 44-28 at the end of the third. In the first two minutes of the fourth, Stefano Toia scored 7 points, and Cacace added 4 for 55-31 lead, and Milan cruised to victory the rest of the way. Cacace finished with 15 points, Picarelli had 14, while Toia had 10 in victory. Sansone scored 10 in defeat.
