U18 Partizan Belgrade booked a spot in the semifinals of the ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Qualifying Tournament - Marko Ivkovic Belgrade by knocking off U18 FC Bayern Munich 70-52 to secure second place in Group B. Milos Glisic collected 23 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks as Partizan finished with a 2-1 record. Ivan Hadzic added 13 points and Srecko Gasic had 9 points and 12 rebounds for Partizan, which will face defending champion U18 Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade in the semis on Sunday. Bayern dropped to 1-2 despite Noah Kandem scoring 11 points. Nelson Weidemann picked up 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss. Bayern will square off against U18 Alba Berlin in an all-German match-up for fifth place.

Aleksa Popovic scored the game’s first points for Partizan with Weidemann hitting at the other end. Glisic’s first basket had the Serbian side up 7-3. Daniel Gebray put back an offensive rebound for Bayern to make it 8-9 and Weidemann’s free throw had Bayern within 11-9. Partizan pulled away for the first time with an 11-0 run with Boris Latinovic scoring 5 points for a 22-9 lead. Gebray’s three-point play left Bayern trailing 22-12 after 10 minutes. Bayern tallied the first 7 points of the second quarter with Kandem hitting 5 of them. Glisic’s free throw after nearly 3 minutes got Partizan going in the quarter before Gebray trimmed the deficit to 23-21. Bayern failed to score in more than 5 minutes and Glisic knocked down back-to-back triples for a 34-21 advantage. Jannick Jebens and Weidemann got the gap down to 34-25 and it was 37-26 at intermission.

Jebens got the second half going with a pair of free throws and two baskets from Kandem made it 39-32. Glisic answered with a three-point play but Bayern continued to charge back and it was 43-40 after 4 free throws by Vladimir Pinchuk. Bayern however failed to score for more than 3 minutes in which Tadija Tadic nailed a three-ball for a 51-42 advantage. Partizan was leading 53-45 after 30 minutes. Partizan struck first in the fourth quarter with Hadzic’s three-pointer for an 11-point lead. Bayern managed just a single basket from Pinchuk in the first 6:40 minutes of the final frame with Hadzic’s score making it 60-47. Mario Hack-Vazquez managed a three-point play to trim the deficit to 60-50, but Bayern would not get any closer the rest of the way.
