Galatasaray grabbed its second consecutive win in Group L and Ulm dropped to 1-2. Both teams will meet again in Germany next week. Jamont Gordon paced the winners with 18 points. Carlos Arroyo added 15 and 8 assists, Milan Macvan had 14 points and Furkan Aldemir got 10 for Galatasaray, that was without David Hawkins. John Bryant led Ulm with 18 points and a game-high 7 rebounds. Galatasaray opened the game with a 9-0 run and an inspired Gordon soon made the hosts boost their margin to 21-8. An unstoppable Bryant brought Ulm within 21-13 after 10 minutes. He got some help from Allan Ray and Steven Esterkamp to give Ulm its first lead, 36-37, near halftime. Galatasaray used a 10-0 run to get the lead for good, 46-37, and soon boosted its margin to 62-44 midway through the third quarter. Ulm never gave up but Galatasaray managed to keep a safe lead from that moment until the final buzzer.

Macvan, Gordon and Arroyo struck from downtown in a 9-0 opening run that sent Galatasaray fans to their feet. Bryant hit a jump hook and matched Aldemir's huge slam with a tip-in. Ray hit an off-balance shot but Aldemir, Arroyo and Gordon combined for all points in a 6-0 run that made Ulm call timeout at 17-6. Gordon stayed on fire with an acrobatic basket and even when Ray hit a long jumper, Macvan and Cenk Akyol gave the hosts a 21-8 margin. Esterkamp downed a wild turnaround jumper and a three-pointer by Philipp Schwethelm brought Ulm within 21-13. Back-to-back baskets by Daniel Theis and Lance Jeter made it a five-point game, 22-17, after 10 minutes. Esterkamp and Erden Arslan traded triples early in the second quarter and a jumper by Boni Ndong gave Galatasaray a 27-20 edge. Erwin Dudley nailed a shot from the elbow but Ray followed a tip-in with a mid-range jumper. Dudley kept pacing Galatasaray with another jumper but Bryant followed a power basket with a jump hook to keep Ulm within 32-28. Arroyo made free throws but Schwethelm erased it with a put-back layup and a triple by a red hot Bryant brought the guests as close as 34-33. Aldemir and Jeter exchanged layups and an easy basket by Bryant completed Ulm's comeback, 36-37. Aldemir dunked it off a timeout and back-to-back triples by Gordon and Macvan gave Galatasaray a 44-37 lead at halftime.

Arroyo nailed a mid-range jumper right after the break to cap a 10-0 Galatasaray half. Per Guenther and Akyol exchanged triples but Gordon insisted from downtown to make the hosts restore a double-digit lead, 52-40. Keaton Nankivil and Guenther tried to change things with back-to-back layups but Gordon and Macvan buried respective three-pointers in a 10-0 run that broke the game open, 62-44. Guenther made free throws, igniting a 0-7 run that Bryant capped with a bomb from downtown. Arroyo made free throws off a timeout, Bryant scored down low and an off-balance basket by Macvan fixed the score at 66-53 after 30 minutes. Schwethelm buried a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter. Engin Atsur shined with a backdoor layup but Jeter brought Ulm within single digits, 68-59, with over 7 minutes to go. Arroyo punished the guests' defense with a triple and Arslan copied him right after that to boost Galatasaray's lead to 74-60. Theis stepped up with a put-back basket but Dudley and Macvan sealed the outcome, 77-62, with 3 minutes left. Nothing changed from that moment, as Galatasaray fans had plenty of time to celebrate an important home win.

Head Coaches

ATAMAN, ERGIN
Galatasaray Medical Park
"We started the game played fast-paces basketball but were tired a bit tired in the second half. We used Jamont Gordon and Carlos Arroyo's creativity to score easy points in the second half. We played very good defense, too. We will face Ulm again next week and hope we will carry on getting wins."
LEIBENATH, THORSTEN
Ratiopharm Ulm
"Congratulations to Galatasaray for a well-deserved win tonight. We had a bad start of the game and allowed our opponent to control the game. We missed the chance to turn the game on our side. We are usually good on offense but Galatasaray put great pressure on defense and we could not get the easy points that we usually get."

Players

ARSLAN, ENDER
Galatasaray Medical Park
"We have played against a good dangerous team which got a road win against Unics Kazan last week. It was a difficult game for us. Our tough defense in the second half allowed us to gey an easy win. It is crucial not to lose another home game, which made this win very important for us."
GUENTHER, PER
Ratiopharm Ulm
"Galatasaray Medical Park started the game great with three reiples and took control of the game. We tried too many outside shots instead of putting the ball inside, as John Bryant had a good game. We hit 22% of our three-point shots, which is not enough to beat such a good team like Galatasaray."
