Cibona Zagreb got its first win of the season by routing Le Mans Sarthe Basket 53-64. Andrija Zizic tallied 21 points with 7 rebounds to lead the winners, D.J. Strawberry added 13 points and 7 boards, while Dario Saric amassed 11 points, 8 boards, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Despite the win, Le Mans remains last in Group A at 1-5. Reyshawn Terry and Dashaun Wood both scored 19 points for Le Mans, which slipped to 3-3.

Cibona opened the night by scoring the first 14 points – 8 of them by big man Zizic. DeShaun Wood ended a nine-minute scoreless stretch for the home team from downtown before a layup by Saric fixed the score at 3-16 after 10 minutes. A Strawberry layup gave Cibona 6-20 lead and late in the quarter, a three pointer bagged by Antoine Eito made the score 18-25. Zizic’s free throws and Wood’s basket from beyond the arc left the score at 23-29 in favor of Cibona at halftime. The visitors came back from the lockers and went on a 0-7 run with 5 points from Strawberry to lead 23-36, but a dunk and three-pointer by Terry made it 30-38. A 14-3 run capped by back-to-back lay ups from Darko Planinic gave a 33-52 margin to Cibona at the end of the third quarter. Terry netted 7 consecutive points opening the final quarter to get within 40-52, but Matt Janning and Zizic fueled the guests to make it 40-56. Wood’s three pointer tried to keep alive Le Mans, 45-58, but a Strawberry layup and Zizic free throws sealed the visiting team’s win.
