Dynamo Moscow retained at least its share of first place in Group F on Tuesday when it outlasted visiting challenger CEZ Nymburk 94-83. Dynamo is now 4-1 and had to wait on the results of Red Star's game later Tuesday to find out if they were still tied for the group lead. Nymburk, meanwhile, fell to 2-3 and will either be tied for third or fourth place at the halfway point of the regular season. A 14-point difference in the middle quarters helped Dynamo gain leads it controlled through the finish. Robertas Javtokas scored 13 of his 20 points in the turnaround second quarter. He was matched in the scoring column by Henry Domercant, while Sergey Bykov added 19 points and Antonis Fotsis 13 for the winners. Dynamo made 78% of its two-point shots (29 for 27), one key to fictory. For Nymburk, Monty Mack led the scoring effort with 22 points. He was followed by Blake Schilb, who scored 17, while Radoslav Rancik and Arthur Lee added 14 each. Nymburk led after one quarter but couldn't stop Javtokas inside when it counted, and Dynamo used its experience to manage the leads until the victory was in hand.

Dynamo tried to jump all over the guests by racing to a 10-4 start that Nikola Prkacin started and ended with inside shots. Dynamo's lead hit a high of 14-6 on Bykov's third basket, plus a free throw, and was still 19-12 before Nymburk rallied. Schilb buried 3 jumpers of his own in a 0-9 run that put the guests up 19-21 after 10 minutes. Javtokas, Milos Vujanic and Henry Domercant turned things around for Dynamo in the second quarter by combining for all their team's 23 points - 13 of those by Javtokas - which were good for a new 42-37 halftime lead for the hosts. Triples by Petr Samoylenko and Antonis Fotsis to open the third quarter let Dynamo reach a new high lead of 50-39. That difference climbed higher still as Dynamo limited Nymburk almost exclusively to free throws on the way to a 66-54 lead after 30 minutes. Bykov's 5 points to open the final quarter blew the game open at 71-54. Monty Mack and Rancik tried to bring the guests back, but they could get no closer than 8 points, 84-76, when Mack downed a triple with 3 minutes left. His next one and a follow-up twoo-pointer by Lee got Nymburk to within 91-83, but the final minute was all Dynamo's, as was the victory.

Head Coaches

PESIC, SVETISLAV
Dynamo Moscow
"My comment is very simple. With this attitude, with this defense, with this concentration we do not have any chances to win. I mean we can win some games, but we will go to vacation without winning any tournament of the season."
KATZURIN, MULI
CEZ Nymburk
"I think my team played a very good game. Most of the time we were trying to be close, but our team were not ready to play against such level of defense which Dynamo played. I'm proud of my team and we will learn a lot from this game."

Players

JAVTOKAS, ROBERTAS
Dynamo Moscow
"We won the game, this is the most important. I scored many points but for me more important is defense. Tonight our defense was not so good."
