Dynamo Moscow got closer to reach the elimination rounds in competitive Group F by thrashing Telindus Oostende 104-84 in the Russian capital on Tuesday. Dynamo keeps tying atop the Group F standings with a 5-2 record and will likely need another win to advance to the elimination rounds. Meanwhile, Oostende dropped to 3-4 and ties for the fourth spot with Beghelli Bologna. Both teams face each other in Week 8 in Belgium. Henry Domercant led the winners with 28 points on 6-for-7 three-pointers. Travis Hansen added 26 on 6-for-8 triples while Sergey Bykov had 17 for Dynamo, that hit 16-for-28 shots from downtown. Elvir Ovcina led Oostende with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Chuck Davis added 13, Veselin Petrovic had 12 while Sam Van Rossom and Titus Ivory each got 11 for the guests. Bykov and Hansen fueled a 8-0 run that gave Dynamo a 23-15 lead early in the game. Domercant and a red hot Bykov soon boosted the hosts' margin to 44-26 midway through the second quarter. Oostende found a go-to buy in Ovcina, who singlehandedly brought the guests within 50-40 at halftime. Ovcina got some help from Petrovic and Jerry Green to bring Oostende back in the game, 65-61. Hansen led a 10-2 run to give Dynamo some air at 75-63. A red hot Domercant allowed Dynamo to extend its margin to 89-69 and cruise to a well-deserved win.
Van Rossom and Petrovic stepped up early to keep Oostende tied at 5-5, but Robertas Javtokas and Hansen fueled a 6-0 run that gave Dynamo a 11-5 lead. Ovcina stroke from downtown while Davis added consecutive baskets to get Oostende as close as 13-12. Ovcina soon tied the game again, 15-15, with a free throw, but Bykov and Hansen had 7 points in a 8-0 Dynamo run that gave the hosts a 23-15 lead. Antonis Fotsis stroke from downtown to keep Dynamo ahead, 26-18, after 10 minutes. Oostende kept struggling to score early in the second quarter. Meanwhile, a red hot Bykov stroke from downtown, then followed Niksa Prkacin's basket with a three-point play and soon added another basket to break the game open, 36-22. Domercant capped a 10-0 run with a triple, making Oostende call timeout at 39-22. Green stepped up for Oostende, but Domercant and Hansen still kept Dynamo way ahead, 44-26. Ovcina stepped up with 6 quick points and fed Green for a layup, good for a 49-36 Oostende deficit. Petrovic and Green brought the guests even closer, 50-40, at halftime. Van Rossom kept the guests' comeback going after the break, as he followed a triple with another basket for a 54-45 Oostende deficit. Domercant made free throws while Fotsis added a put-back layup for a 58-47 Dynamo edge. Milos Vujanic stroke from downtown but Davis followed a triple with a put-back basket in a 0-7 Oostende run in which Petrovic brought the guests within 61-56. Dynamo called timeout but Petrovic and Ovcina got Oostende within 65-61. Hansen stepped up with 8 quick points, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer, in a 10-2 run that put Dynamo out of trouble, 75-63, after 30 minutes. Prkacin stepped up with a three-point play early in the fourth quarter but Brunner got Oostende within 78-67. It didn't last long, however, as Domercant buried 2 triples and Sergey Monya added another in an 11-2 run that broke the game open, 89-69. Oostende did not recover, as Domercant and Hansen kept pacing the hosts' to make all Dynamo fans celebrate a big, important home win.
