Head Coaches

MARKOPOULOS, SOULIS
PAOK Thessaloniki
"Congratulations to my players for their effort, they believed in the victory. We had a good reaction when Limoges tried to make a comeback by shooting threes. We won much easier than we had expected we could against a team with such a roster. It’s still too early though to make any assessments of the group."
BILBA, JIM
Limoges CSP
"Congratulations to PAOK on the victory. We tried to run the floor and play fast at first, but PAOK put a lot of pressure on us and forced a lot of turnovers that allowed them free and easy shots. Big Sofo killed us in the first half, so we tried to adjust in the second and put pressure which at first worked, we made some free threes and had a 3-point game. However, at that point, PAOK changed its game and removed Sofo, played with a lot of passes and made tough shots in transition and we weren’t able to find solutions. Our coach leaving the team and us trying to take over is very difficult, it’s the first time I’ve ever coached, but we are certain the team is going to find the best solution to move ahead."

Players

SCHORTSANITIS, SOFOKLIS
PAOK Thessaloniki
"We were very well prepared for tonight’s game; the team found harmony on the floor, we were moving the ball well and got open shots and easy baskets that helped us control the game. I believe that the team is staring to find rhythm. We finally have a command on rebounding, we move the ball well in the perimeter and I think we can do good things in both the Greek League and the Eurocup. I enjoy my time with PAOK, I have a lot of time on the floor, but this is something my coaches want from me and it happens to suit me fine. But I would adjust to whatever the coaches wanted me to do to help the team."
PAYNE, MARK
Limoges CSP
"It’s frustrating to lose a second game in a row, because the Eurocup competition is so short and every game is very important in terms of moving forward. We made a lot of mistakes in the beginning and allowed a lot of open shots. PAOK has killer shooters and they can finish you if you give them the floor to do so. We definitely need to get back on track and win our next game if we want to have a future in the competition. I’m happy to be back in Thessaloniki, I feel like visiting family, I was looking forward to the game since I fist heard we were playing PAOK, but it’s still very frustrating to lose."
